Sophie Taylor is a mum of 2 from Sheffield. Her warm and friendly blog shares a snapshot of her family life in pictures. Sophie first shared her love of Breton t-shirts with me on Instagram and with her return to work following maternity leave imminent, I asked her if she'd like to try our t's as part of her new everyday wardrobe that needed to suit her various roles, and to write a guest blog for us sharing her ways to wear. She kindly agreed and went on to buy several more t's having loved her gifted t so much. Here is what Sophie shared...
"I don’t think I’m alone in saying that finding my feet in fashion after Covid 19 has been an ongoing battle.
Over the past two years I’ve gone from professional work wear five days a week to full time casual dressing during working from home and then into maternity wear and clothing to support my postpartum body.
I’m now back to work after maternity leave in a hybrid working capacity so my wardrobe needs to work harder than ever. It needs to say office professional, comfortable working from home, busy mum and weekend chic.
I decided that rather than a wardrobe full of throwaway fashion, I wanted a capsule wardrobe of key, quality, pieces that could deliver all of the above and make me feel comfortable in my own skin.
I was so happy to find Ivy – ethically sourced, beautifully cut organic cotton t-shirts that offer style, comfort and versatility. Sally created the brand in 2017 to help develop the foundation of every woman’s wardrobe and has nurtured a wonderful collection of beautiful t-shirts.
I love a Breton stripe so the Ivy Audrey long sleeve tops caught my eye straight away and they definitely exceeded my expectations – beautifully cut, gloriously soft and they wash so well.
I now have two Audrey Breton stripe tops and two Dotty v neck T-shirts and they are the perfect basics to build your outfits for work wear, comfy casuals and weekend chic.
Adding in some well-fitting jackets, trousers and jeans and different footwear and jewellery, I have now created a mini capsule wardrobe of essentials to see me from the office, to home working, to weekend adventures."
